Daniel J. Guenther, Esquire

Dan Guenther is an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney and litigator with over 32 years experience practicing before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.  He has successfully represented thousands of clients throughout Southern Maryland, including residents of Charles, Calvert, Prince George’s and St. Mary’s Counties.  This representation includes individual, joint, and business bankruptcies. (Chapters 7, 11 and 13).

Dan is a member of the State Bar of the Maryland Court of Appeals; the U.S. Bankruptcy Court; the United States District Court for the District of Maryland; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, as well as being an active member of the Bar Association for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Greenbelt Division, and the St. Mary’s County Bar Association.

Dan’s experience as a bankruptcy attorney is extensive. Currently, Dan is counsel of record in over 150 bankruptcy cases presently pending in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland.

In his spare time, Dan continues to serve in his community. He has been very active in Hospice of St. Mary’s, having been an in-home volunteer for a number of patients, as well as serving on the Board of Directors and two years as President of Hospice of St. Mary’s .  He has served on the Board of Directors of the St. Mary’s Woman’s Center, now the Southern Maryland Center for Family Advocacy, and is Past President of the Center.   Dan is also a member of the St. Mary’s County Court Pro Bono Committee.

Additionally, he has been a Court-Appointed Domestic Mediator since 2005.  He has also served as an appointee by the County Commissioners to the County Building Permit Review Committee, and is a past member of the ad hoc committee to assess and prevent underage drinking (MSPF Assessment and Planning Work Group).

Dan resides with his wife, SuanNie, and two daughters, Angelina and Dominique, in Leonardtown Maryland.
